Prashant unterrichtet Iyengar Yoga. Genaue individuelle Ausrichtung, ein besseres Verständnis für die Positionen sowie die heilenden Aspekte von Yoga stehen daher bei seinem Unterricht im Mittelpunkt. Wir bieten an diesem Wochenende vier verschiedene Workshops mit ihm an, die entweder einzeln oder als Gesamtpaket buchbar sind.

 

Workshopthemen (alle Klassen werden auf Englisch unterrichtet):

 

Samstag 27. Juni  von 10.00 – 12.30 Uhr: "Strong Roots With Standing Poses"

So, you’ve nailed your Triangle Pose. News Flash: Like all standing poses, it’s way more complicated than you think! In fact, standing poses are the most challenging postures in yoga. Not only that, but the key to accessing many fancy, “advanced” postures lies in your understanding of the principles and actions of standing poses. This workshop will clean up your alignment, teach you the fundamentals of standing postures, and deepen your overall practice. It’s time to get clear!

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

-The alignment and applied anatomy of standing postures.

-Variations that will highlight and clarify key actions.

-Modifications to accommodate your unique body.

 

Samstag 27. Juni  von 14.00 - 16.30 Uhr "Yoga Inversions“

This workshop will explore the dynamics of yoga inversions including: Forearm stand, headstand & Shoulder-stand. Our practice will integrate strength building exercises with short yoga sequences that prepare the body & mind to balance upside down! Students will learn fun and creative ways to build up the core & upper body strength necessary to approach these asanas with a stable foundation. Our inversion play-time will emphasize breath connection and healthy alignment. Students will go home with a deeper understanding of how they can safely integrate inversions into their own practice.

This workshop is appropriate for students of all levels. It is recommended that students who attend have at least some practice working with one of the following: forearm stand or headstand.

We will be working on:

- shoulder mobility

- alignment drills

- progression

- how to bail safely

- spotting

 

Sonntag 28. Juni  von 10.00 -12.30 Uhr: "Backbends & Spinal Waves“

“…you create tremendous depth and vastness in the chest through the backbends that the emotional centre accommodates all types of pressures and strains. There is no chance for a person who does backbends to get emotionally depressed or distressed.” BKS Iyengar

Backbending involves stretching forward and extending backwards, not just folding.

Backbending is one of the most challenging categories of yoga posture for many practitioners. Fear and a desire to avoid them are a common experience for many. Backbending is great for the nervous system and the body to develop their full range of strength and opening necessary for a balanced internal experience.

In this workshop we will examine techniques for practicing backbends in a safe and effective way for students of all levels. In this workshop we will explore the balance between the effort and surrender in back-bending, putting together a sequence to lengthen the front side of the body, upper-back, and hips in order to free the spine, strengthening and working from the legs and the core to create stability within the poses.

The course is open to students of all levels who have had some basic exposure to any form of yoga.

 

Sonntag 28. Juni von 14.00 - 16.30 Uhr "Therapeutic Appproach to Restorative Yoga"

The Restorative Workshop is appropriate for all level students and is focused on stress relief. This meditative practice is the perfect antidote for a busy life of multi-tasking. Props are used to get comfortable in poses which are held longer, for a deeper feeling of calm.

Workshop participants will be guided through a series of poses intended to eliminate stress and trapped energy in the body. These poses promote inner peace and tranquility, improves memory, increases concentration, increases mental clarity, supports immune system function, soothes the nervous system, improves circulation to and function of organs and organ systems, regulates blood pressure, reduces depression.

"In my teaching, my mission is to bridge somatics, circular movement, and a new understandings in anatomy with Yoga Asana and the roots of the Iyengar Yoga method in a playful way to create an optimised and individual way of practicing Asana and other modalities of Movement. I was initiated into Yoga at an early age, watching my grandfather in a headstand every morning, having consistent yoga practice throughout High School and finally became a facilitator upon teaching friends during my studies in Ireland. As it often goes, I had to go to the West to realise my passion for the wisdom of Eastern Practices and Yoga and made my way back to India to learn the science and arts of this ancient practice.

Twelve years on, I am still hungry to share, learn and engage in the bliss of Yoga as well as other somatic forms of Martial Arts, Qi Gung, Primal Movements as well as science-based knowledge to compliment each individual body."
